Pre-launch website for a small-scale farm

Explore Live Project

Willow Creek Farm is a newly designed website for a small family-run farm near Seattle, producing small-batch dairy and handmade goods.
The site has been fully designed and developed and is currently in a pre-launch phase, preparing for the first group of local members.

The project focuses on creating a calm, trust-driven digital experience that supports long-term relationships rather than one-time transactions.

Challenge

Challenge

Small farms often depend on word-of-mouth and social media, which makes it difficult to clearly communicate how the business actually works.
Potential customers want transparency and trust, but frequently lack a clear understanding of small-batch production, limited availability, and subscription-based models.

The main challenge was not maximizing sales, but setting the right expectations and building credibility before launch.

My approach

My approach

I approached the project as an experience design task rather than a traditional e-commerce website.

  • Prioritized understanding before conversion

  • Structured content to reduce uncertainty and cognitive load

  • Used transparency as a trust-building UX tool

  • Designed soft, invitational CTAs instead of urgency-driven messaging

The goal was to help users feel confident, informed, and comfortable before committing.

Design solution

Design solution

The final solution is a calm, clearly structured website that guides users through the experience step by step:

  • Story → process → offering → commitment content flow

  • Subscription-based model instead of traditional shop mechanics

  • Limited availability communicated clearly and honestly

  • Simple pricing structure with clear justification

  • Human tone of voice across all pages

  • Direct, personal contact instead of automated flows

Key pages include Home, About, How it works, Pricing, FAQ, Contact, and Privacy Policy — all designed to support clarity and trust.

Business impact

Business impact

Although the site is still in pre-launch, it provides a strong foundation for onboarding the first members with clear expectations and minimal friction.

The website enables the farm to:

  • Communicate its process and values in one consistent place

  • Build trust before launch

  • Support a subscription-based business model

  • Reduce misunderstandings around availability and pricing

The structure allows for future iteration based on real user feedback after launch.

This project demonstrates how UX design can support clarity and trust at an early business stage — before launch, metrics, or scale.
